I thought about calling this video “Grumpiness and Sadness at Yule,” but I went for a more positive slant.
As we approach the Winter Solstice, we naturally feel like retreating, relaxing, and becoming very silent and still. We can also feel extra emotionally tender. In a culture that values constant productivity and enthusiasm, we can judge our tenderness and desire to rest, which can lead to (you guessed it) grumpiness and sadness during the Yuletide season.
By honoring our feelings as we flow with the Wheel of the Year, we can feel more freedom and step (naturally, with no pressure) into more joy, while also getting in the rest and renewal that are so healing for us at Yule.
